Luxury Problems

I keep seeing her everywhere these days, Emma Watson, especially after she was named the winner of ELLE UK's Style Icon of the Year award, incomprehensibly.

I've never been a huge fan of hers, as in my opinion she's quite a mediocre actress and fails to deserve all the hype, especially the (huge) part of the hype that's based on her so-called "style", that's completely constructed and carefully studied by the experts of Burberry (I wonder if the sudden attention to her "style" is due to the fact that after the end of Harry she hasn't exactly been the busiest actress around, has she?). If this is not enough, we'll soon see her as the face of Lancome. From Daria Werbowy to Emma Watson, what a mighty downfall.

Yesterday I found her looking at me from the pages of a Swedish magazine, complaining about the fact that she has more money than she knows what to do with.

I wonder if Emma has ever heard of countries like Rwanda? Or Somalia? Or Afghanistan? Countries where people die from hunger, violence, war and poverty? UNICEF, if you're reading, please contact miss Watson to inform her that there's such a thing as charity. Maybe that way, all the money spent in her "interpretation" of Hermione Snottysnob Granger might actually be useful.

What really bothered me was finding her picture next to one of the always-amazing Oscar winner Natalie Portman, a REAL actress who has always worked actively for a better world. Let's hope for a future with celebs with big hearts -not just big wallets.

  2. grande post!

  3. I can contact her but I would probably end up speakin w her assistant saying she is too busy at the moment to think about the horror in the world. Also, I think if she were to do anything for charity it would be only if she received something back, not love and admiration for the ppl working 2 make this world a better place, but in recognition (if you know what I mean). I have learnt that if celebs (not all of course but some) don't get recognized in media for their work w charity they don't even bother helping. Sad but true.

  4. Pictures of her "style" have been around the internet even before she became a Burberry testimonial (or whatever that is called). She has been styling herself and looked great.
And about her not being a real actress: Isn't it a bit unfair to compare Hermione Granger to the Black Swan?
And when she said she didn't know what to do with her money that was probably a kind of joke, a humble attitude. Like she doesn't have a lifestyle for which she would need that much money and she is overwhelmed by her success, something like that.
