Free as a Bird Tattoo

Found a pic on Google of this tattoo. And fell in love. I'm getting one as soon as I can afford it!

Appena posso permettermelo...

Summer Must-Have: Nivea Protect & Bronze

I'm not one who tans easily. My natural skin color is more Kristen Stewart halfway through her vampire transformation than Cameron Diaz surfing in Hawaii. And, well, you know that gorgeous porcelain-skinned girl with a perfect china face? Well, I'm not her. For all my life, I've been trying to make peace with being pasty-pale. Then I realized that everyone (that means you, Kristen!) looks better with a tan.

So, I experimented. Self-tanning cream and bronzing moisturizer means yellowish patches all over my legs. Tanning towlettes? After appearing at my sister's graduation party with an orange face, I've decided to part ways with them. So, what am I left with? The answer: Nivea Protect and Bronze.

I rarely rave about products this way, but this stuff is really good. It protects your skin from the sun (you do know you should always use sunscreen, right?) and it stimulates the melanin (that stuff that I don't have that much of), leaving you with a healthy glow. Try!

Voto: 9/10

Sunday Beauty Shopping - Kiko

Mezz'ora dopo...

Every once in a while, I discover new things. Too bad I tend to discover them years after everyone else (trend sensibility is my forte, oh yes). My most recent discovery was Kiko. Today, walking aimlessly around Corso Buenos Aires (not a good idea for anyone whose wallet is on a permanent diet, like mine) I spotted, glued to a shop window, the words that would make any girl lose her mind: "NAIL POLISH 2,50 EURO".

Half an hour later...

Salviettine/blotting papers, 6,50 euro
Fondotinta/foundation, 5,90 euro
Terra solare/bronzing powder, 9,90 euro
Solvente/nail polish remover, 3,50 euro

....now that's what I call a happy Sunday! Correct me if I'm wrong, but usually with 29 euro I can get just a tube of foundation! Now all that's left is to see if this stuff is any good...

I want to look like THAT!

I can't read THAT Magazine because my French isn't the best.
I don't know who did the (genius) styling of this cover, what the photographer's name is or who did the makeup (genius as well).
I only know that I'm in love with this photo of Nicole Richie (proving wrong anyone who says she's anything but gorgeous) and I wish I could go to the office with this makeup every day now.

10 Shades of Crazy

E rosa. E nero. Bianco. Argento. A righe. A metá fucsia e nere.

As a kid, I played the piano. And when you play the piano, you can't have long fingernails. So, since forever, I've had really short nails (aside from my six months in LA with the marvellous acrylic French tips). And since forever, I go crazy for nail polish.

Like Picasso, I have had a blue period. And a pink one. And a black one. And a "different-color-on-each-nail" period. Then there was the French period. White. Silver. Striped. Half black, half neon pink. My crazy side shows itself on my hands.

Right now, this is my perfect 10:

Coral: perfect for a summer vacation.
Nude: perfect for the first day back at the office after the summer vacation.
Red: perfect for the first date.
Wine: perfect for putting on your engagement ring for the first time.
Green: perfect for Fashion Week.
Blue: perfect for those nights that you have no idea how they're going to end.
Hot pink: perfect for hot summer nights.
Brown: perfect for first impressions.
Dark red with glitter: perfect for Christmas and New Year's.
Black: perfect for any concert (including classic violin) and for your first (and maybe last) Valentine's Day as a single girl.

Bad Hair Day

I know you're all waiting impatiently for my Sunday Wishlist, but at this moment I'm enjoying a Sunday morning at my in-laws' house, where you can find everything except Paint.net, which makes the crafting of a moodboard somewhat difficult. So you'll have to wait for the wishlist until tonight. In the meantime, I wanted to talk to you about something that's been bothering me lots these days: my hair.

I thought I had found my soulmate-of-cuts when I showed up at my hairdresser's holding the issue of ELLE UK that had Alexa Chung on the cover. But the joy didn't last long: I'm unlucky enough to have lots of hair, all of it extraordinarily rebellious and fantastically poufy, neither-straight-nor-curly for life, and that can't be changed with any amount of blow-drying or straightening (at least not for more than seven minutes). My hairdresser worked miracles by thinning it out in lots of layers, but in less than a month, my bastard hair was back to its normal shape and form.

My conclusion thus far is: I either get straight bangs (to balance it all out and frame my face) or wear it up ALL the time. Tough decision.

There could be another option: that Brazilian chemical-straightening thing. Any of you ever try that?

The Cellulite Wars - This Works

I've always stated that I couldn't care less.
That while we were worrying about this crap, around the world people were dying from war, hunger, and violence. That women has so many battles left to fight, that cellulite was the least of our worries.

Until I realized just how ugly it is.

Contrary to popular belief, ALL women get cellulite. That's right, ALL of us (note to the guys: yes, that means your girlfriend. And your super-hot coworker. And the model in this month's Playboy. They might not have it today, but rest assured it's coming).

Fortunately, there are ways to fight it. Starting with boycotting the "crème-soin-jus" that costs half your monthly salary (we're not mad) and saying NO to the boiled-carrots-only diet (again, not mad), and running down to the drugstore to get L'Orèal Perfect Slim Pro Massage:

Hmm.

Yes, I know that it looks like a medieval torture device (you're supposed to massage your thighs with the brush-like thingies for about 1-2 minutes a day, before applying the gel) but I promise: this works. Or is it just the half-hour walk it takes to get to the office? Hmm.
